One that really puts you ahead of the curve.
No, creativity isn't that holy grail, exclusively owned by hyper-talented natives. Everyone can benefit from developing his or her creativity and deploy it in a professional context. And that's what my mission is all about. I'm a business creativity expert, fostering people's creativity within teams and organizations.
Why creativity? Because it's the engine for change and innovation. Via business creativity, I support organizations to be better prepared for change, to increase their innovation power, to work in a smarter, more efficient and future oriented way, to maximize the power of their human capital and - last but not least - to create common ground for all that beautiful work ahead, called 'the innovation process'.
Much more than a talent, creativity is indeed a mindset. And I'd be delighted to guide you developing that mindset for yourself, your team and your organization.
Now, who's that guy?
Born in the mid-sixties, I grew up and still live in the outskirts of Brussels. In 1988, right after finishing my studies in communication design, I started my own business. The one man design studio quickly evolved - with the aid of partners - into a valued communications agency with international clients in a mainly business-to-business environment.
After 24 years in the creative communication business, I decided to take another path. Instead of putting my own (and my team's) creativity at the client's service, I discovered the joy of making the client more creative himself. That's why I started the company BEDENK in 2012, with the most prominent tagline 'create change from within'. Partners joined and together we made BEDENK a solid reference in the Belgian market.
In 2014, Erasmus University College Brussels gave me the opportunity to become one of their pioneer professors at its all new study course Idea & Innovation Management. An assignment I accepted with lots of gusto and which today became a half-time job. So much fun to teach these young and talented people all about business creativity!
For reasons of time constraints and personal focus, I decided to quit BEDENK mid 2017. So, today I'm an independent business creativity expert. As much as I've always liked working with partners, I decided to go solo. Again, exactly as I started about 30 years ago.
And what exactly can he do for us?
Let me start by telling you what I can't and I won't do. I'm not going to turn you or anyone of your team into an artist. That's not the kind of creativity I'm focusing on. Although I value artistry a lot. We're talking business creativity here. And the purpose is twofold: change and innovation. (If you want to know more about the relationship between creativity, change and innovation, please read this article.)
I focus on three services:
Furthermore, I'm trilingual (English, Dutch, French), having an extensive working experience in an international environment for various business sectors (profit, governmental and non-profit).
